Dear visitor,

In these precarious times, we stay committed to extending our solidarity and support to marginalised communities who, once again, will bear the brunt of another worldwide crisis.

Right now, we are reassessing how we can do just that. We aim to start new teams in the spring of 2021. The world will need all good forces who are willing and able to do whatever is needed. Let’s unite and get to work as soon as possible.

Stay safe and best wishes!

What is the Take 10 Volunteer programme?

The Take 10 Volunteer programme is an action-based, fast-paced international volunteer programme lasting 10 months. Volunteers receive specialised training for three months at a community-based learning centre in Europe before joining a project.

The programme provides an opportunity for people from the global West and North to learn from, and volunteer with, community-driven projects under the Humana People to People umbrella. The projects respond to needs within the spheres of education, sustainable farming, early childhood development and mitigation of climate change.

Before going to the projects, volunteers are trained for three months at learning centres in Europe. After completing their training, volunteers participate actively and constructively in creating positive change in developing communities in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Guinea Bissau or India, for six months.

A one month reflection and evaluation period concludes the programme.

“I started this programme to change my life. I am still in that process of exploration and change. I have no idea who I will be after this is over or how the project work overseas will affect me or my future.”
